Souvenir of Days Together

When relationships end, women are the most affected. Is this so? Or is this suggested by the avalanche of girly articles? Would it surprise you to know that underneath that well-toned abs and bulging biceps, men do cry and hurt. But it's not their style to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Instead of whining to friends and family about their broken romantic relationships, they burrow their heads in work, sports, and travel.

Like women, they go over the mementos of the past - engraved pocket watches, photographs and love letters. They reread all the loving emails before they delete these from their inboxes and try to be casual of the breakup. They may discard all traces of the relationship, but it will be quite a while before they throw away those engraved pocket watches and lighters. They are no fools.

Your ex is not telling, but he keeps the souvenirs of the relationship until he snaps out of the doldrums. The framed pictures are delegated to the background or banished but while he is still pining away, the framed picture showing you together in one of those happy moments will stay put prominently on the TV top.

The Mystical Male Ego in Love

When men are in love they look it and feel it. They take care to look their best and ooze with confidence and happiness. But when a mini-skirt with a curvy form in it crosses his path, he'll take a second look and another. Blame it on the variant gene in his genetic makeup he says.

He loves you he says but he can't stop looking at other women. He proves his love to you swearing that he uses all the engraved pocket watches you have given him, and as further proof he plucks one that is in his vest pocket to assure you he values everything you give him, including your silly love note tucked away in his wallet.

His claim that an errant gene is to blame has some basis. A new study investigating why men cannot be faithful discovered that some men have this genetic malfunction that makes it difficult for them to nurture lasting relationships with their women. If this Swedish study is reliable, no wild horses can drag them away from pretty women. So much for the mystical male ego in love.

Invest in Engraved Pocket Watches, Cufflinks, Etc.

If you have your man tightly reined in, shower him with engraved pocket watches to business card cases. This may sound mercenary but you never know. If the relationship does end, he has a truckload of mementos all stamped with your and his initials. Can you imagine him dumping the stuff? He won't. He'll hold on to them and hide these away from his new girlfriend. Nice thinking, isn't it?

That is correct. Those engraved pocket watches, lighter, cufflinks, tie pins, and Swiss Army knife will remain in his cache of favorite stuff. Men do cry over lost loves.
